Maurice Cox, Detroit’s former Development Commissioner, is bringing his talents to Chicago. Cox was the brain behind Detroit’s “20-minute neighborhoods”, where he made certain that neighborhoods had everything they would need within a short distance. Cox is quoted saying “Chicago is one of the most architecturally beautiful and inspiring cities in the world”. Cox will join Mayor Lightfoot in an effort to revitalize neighborhoods, by creating more affordable housing and improving streets along with parks.
