WOODLAWN- A vacant lot next to the Green Line is one step closer to becoming a development for low-income residents thanks to an updated city ordinance, according to Chicago Curbed.

Located at the intersection of Cottage Grove and 63rd Street, Woodlawn Station will include 70 low-income apartment units and 15,000 square feet of ground floor retail. The project benefited from last year’s overhaul of the city’s Transit Oriented Development ordinance, which eased parking lot requirements for properties nearby public transportation.
